Restaurant and Coworking Interior Design for Fred's

In the fall of 2024, we had the fun job of creating an interior design concept for Fred's Food & Coffee and Fred's Workspace. The goal was to create a modern, warm, and welcoming meeting place where good food, community, and a love for the good things in life come together. Fred's connection to the gym chains Nordic Wellness and Grand Fitness shows in the many healthy and delicious options on the menu.

The design concept is built around warm, earthy tones like terracotta, ochre, and pink. Together with green hues, dark brown wood details, rattan, and lots of plants, they create a calm and cozy oasis. To make the best use of the long, narrow space, we designed custom-built booths and benches. We made all the material selections and chose the furniture, lighting, textiles, and décor. We also designed our own floor pattern using two different tiles, which turned out to be a real success and an eye-catcher. To add variety to the space, we used different types of tile, contrasting materials, and a mix of textures in the textiles. The terrazzo on the counter and floor ties the colors of the space together.

In the upper part of the space, we created a workspace that can be divided with a glass wall to host two separate groups for meetings and small conferences. The space is also used every day as a coworking area where you can rent a desk. In the hallway outside, we created small nooks where you can sit down with your laptop and a good cup of coffee.
